Well, these writers certainly are pulling out all the soap tropes to get Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell) back to Salem. First the whole thing with the plane crash, then the bike needing repairs, then the running out of gas, then the arrest by a Jackie Gleeson in “Smokey and the Bandit” wannabe. Instead of playing this straight out, they’re making us wait too … damn … long to get Steve and Bo home. Now let’s talk about the fact I really want to smash in Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) face in for two things; 1) how she’s treating Caroline (Peggy McCay), and 2) how she’s been towards Steve and Bo. I kinda want her to fall in a vat of acid and drown. Sorry “Sweetness” fans, but tis the truth. Have I said how much I really want my girl Ava (Tamara Braun) to get back to Salem? Yeppers. I really would love it if Ava reclaimed Steve and more or less told Kayla to shut her self-righteous mouth. There I said it and I’m happy. Don’t like it, tough. I’m defending my guy Steve.

So I didn’t get yesterday’s screencaps up. My dog ate my screencaps teacher. Like that would happen. Just about as much as Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell) getting back to Salem in time to stop Hope’s (Kristian Alfonso) from marrying Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove). Methinks it won’t happen. But I’m just loving the interplay between our two unlikely heroes. I loved the fact that Bo commented on Steve’s ego and today all the banter involving the repair of the motorcycle and when Steve (Stephen) quipped “Road Trip”. Too funny. I also loved Caroline’s (Peggy McCay) shenanigans to delay Hope’s nuptials. All in all this Steve fan is very happy.

It was a little hard to watch Steve and Bo’s (Peter Reckell) scenes today without having to take a Gravol for motion sickness. The whole plane shaking made it very difficult to get any clear screencaps for today’s episode. It felt like I was watching The Bourne Supremacy or something similar.

Sorry these are a day late. I had intended to have them up yesterday, but I was feeling a little under the weather and just fell asleep. So considering there was no Steve today, this might have been more good timing then good fortune. Here are yesterday’s screencaps from Stephen’s latest episode. Enjoy.

As mentioned below, Stephen appeared on The Today Show this morning with his fellow DAYS OF OUR LIVES stars Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Galen Gehring (Rafe Hernandez), Thaao Phenglis (Andre and Tony DiMera), Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera), Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) and Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) to promote the new book Days of our Lives 50 Years (click the link to take a look inside) by Greg Meng. The interview was fun with a Q&A with the cast over who was kidnapped, thought dead… All the usual soap opera tropes, though Stephen didn’t put his hand up for a few of the categories. I’m wondering if he’s forgotten? Ah well, he was so cute. Below are the screencaps from the show as well as the clip.

So both Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell) finally got away, though we didn’t see how they broke their chains. Me guesses somewhere along the line back to Victor’s (John Aniston) plane they managed to find either a good bolt cutter or the key to those very heavy and serious looking padlocks. The title of the post refers to of course the Victor Hugo hero of Jean Val Jean in the epic story Les Miserables. Love to hear Stephen pronounce that one. Though I feel it would sound a lot like La Liaison Dangereuse (pssst, Stefan Cassadine reference). Also for you, Stephen as well as Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), Galen Gehring (Rafe Hernandez), Thaao Phenglis (Andre and Tony DiMera), Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera), Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady) and Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) were on the extension of the Today Show with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. I’ll have both the screencaps and the clip up after this post. The appearance was in celebration of DAYS OF OUR LIVES 50th Anniversary next month and to promote the Greg Meng book Days of our Lives 50 Years.

So the title says it all. I’m just loving all the memory lane stuff between Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell), but one thing these two are not good at is the art of escape. Opening up the gasline isn’t the greatest thing to do either. Since when were these two spies…exactly? It’s no wonder the ISA more or less let them both hang out in the wind. James Bonds they’re not.

Here is the preview for the coming week on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Looks like Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell) finally get away from Bo’s captors, however, they find themselves in a bit of a pickle on board Victor’s (John Aniston) plane. Yikes!
