Sorry for these not being up on the day, but tons of stuff happening here at home and on another of my sites. So the reason for the title is that simply, good to see Steve and Bo (Peter Reckell) finally being reunited. About time I’d say. Should have happened about a week and a half ago, but then the #Days50 is coming up and my guess is they wanted to wait to have Steve bring Bo home till the actual anniversary is upon us. I have a preview for the coming week I’ll be posting after this.

Okay so I’m going to throw you Steve and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) fans a bone. That kiss I know is something you were waiting for so I’ll be magnanimous and not mention that one person I know just curdles the blood of the Steve and Kayla fans. You know who she is but I’ll not remind you of her by mentioning her name. Instead I’ll give you a featured screencap of that kiss. Don’t say I don’t give ya anything. Like Nick Fury said, I’m nice like that. I’m sorry for the fact I’m not getting these up till this morning, but yesterday was really a busy day for me. We had a general federal election, then the Toronto Blue Jays are in the division finals, and of course, the Star Wars trailer was to drop.

I know these are really late in the day/night but my the tool I use to upload the screencaps to the gallery was just being persnickety. Seriously, how difficult is it to get one program to cooperate? Apparently pretty difficult. I had to do some working around and I hate troubleshooting. Just hate it with a passion. Anyway, I know I’m going to draw some heat from the Steve and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) fans, but could Kayla just shut her mouth occasionally? My god what a harpy. Does she truly expect Steve to just drop all of this with Bo (Peter Reckell) just because? While yes he made that promise to her and Joey (James Lastovic) can she not trust his instinct? Please soap gods, have mercy on this Steve fan and put him with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) if not for a little bit. Make Kayla jealous enough she’s going to shut her yap for a bit. So Steve and Kayla fans, have at me. I’m strong and can take it.

I just found this article from early September of Stephen after his return to DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Here Stephen discusses his return as well as he picks his favourite scene of all time as our Patchman. Here’s a repost of the article. I couldn’t embed the actual video they used on the site, so I went to Youtube and found the entire scene including when Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) found Steve on the docks. Enjoy.

50 Years of Days of Our Lives: Stephen Nichols Picks His Favorite “Patch” Scene

Beauty wanted to tame the Beast… and she also wanted to take a look under that damn patch! When we asked Days of Our Lives icon Stephen Nichols—aka Steve “Patch” Johnson—to pick his favorite moment from his many years on the NBC soap, he wasted no time mind-tripping through lists. “There are so many scenes I remember fondly and so many great ones I’ve probably forgotten,” Nichols says. “But the one that’s still the most meaningful to me, after all these decades, took place [in 1986] when Steve was badly wounded and Kayla [Mary Beth Evans] took off his famous patch to clean his face.”

But first he put up quite a battle. The setup, recalls Nichols, “had Kayla working down at the riverfront clinic and Steve chasing her around there for months. He was sooo into her! Then he got beaten up and she found him. She wants to take care of him—which means touching his face and taking off that patch—but he’s thinking, ‘Oh, no you don’t! Back off, baby! You’re not looking under there! Nobody looks under there!’ But Kayla was persistent and what she saw didn’t gross her out or make her scream and run. She accepts Steve completely, and there’s nothing more romantic than that.”

Was there ever talk of actually showing what was under the patch? “The producers would never go for anything gory or grisly, or showing the eyelid sewn shut or anything like that,” Nichols says. “After all that mysterious buildup, it would have to be something pretty horrible. Better that we used our imaginations. Besides, that scene was all about Kayla’s reaction to what she was seeing. And Mary Beth’s performance was—as always—absolutely extraordinary.”

Here’s that memorable moment:

I was going to have one of my snarky add on title, but since this episode was somewhat serious, I thought better. Okay my reason for wanting to provide a snarky add on has to do with this fact: Why couldn’t they have had Steve actually find Bo (Peter Reckell) and bring him back to Salem? What would have been the harm in having him be changed in Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) eyes and those of the fellow Salemites who seem to think that both Bo and Steve are deadbeat dads and neglectful husbands? Also my gosh, is Victor’s (John Aniston) plane suddenly supersonic? Is it an Avengers Quinjet or something? Didn’t take Steve long to get back to Salem from the Yucatan Peninsula. In the amount of time it took to give Caroline (Peggy McCay) the serum and have it take effect, it seemed like only an hour or so, considering when Steve had the fight with the guard over Bo in Mexico…. Well math is math and distance is distance. Unless as I said Victor’s jet is somehow able to make it from say Sakovia to New York City, then Steve’s travel time was amazingly fast to be there for when Caroline made her recovery. But then I have to say this is a soap opera. The elements of time and space have no presence. Figures. A good performance by Stephen today though. He can cry like no other, and I did love how he was comforting Victor.

Happy beginning of October peeps. Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve ….. You needed to get that guy to put the shackle around his ankle dude, then go off and find Bo (Peter Reckell). Hate to say it but you’re not Jason Bourne, Aaron Cross or Jack Bauer. The fact that the guy got the jump on you without you establishing some sort of dominance over him…. Dude, poor tactics. Maybe it’s time to hang up the spy business. Pulling that puny gun didn’t help either.

Well Steve is getting at least a little closer to finding Bo (Peter Reckell). The only problem is they moved him. Damn, that was close. Anyway Steve is dogged in his pursuit of his buddy.

Sorry these are late. I took some personal time last night and didn’t get to them till this morning. Not much to say about yesterday’s episode excepting I’m hoping that Steve is going to find Bo (Peter Reckell) soon. While I’m enjoying the whole chase, I just hope they don’t drag this out.
